The one minute answer

ISO/IEC 22989:2022 is the AI concepts and terminology standard. Amendment 1 adds generative AI to it. ISO records the amendment at stage 50.00, the final text received or FDIS registered for formal approval, on 18 September 2026. Its text is not public. This site gives you the 2022 baseline, the amendment record, a free check of your vocabulary practice, a kit at USD 799 and a watch at USD 49 a month.

The useful work is not memorising new words. It is knowing which of your artefacts rely on the old ones: the policy sentence, the AI inventory field, the model register, the supplier schedule and the assurance argument. When a definition moves, those are what move with it.

What the public record proves, and what it does not

Proved

The amendment exists and applies

ISO/IEC 22989:2022/FDAmd 1 amends the 2022 standard. Its subject is Generative AI. The committee, ICS codes, edition and reference are public.

Proved

The stage and the dates

Stage 50.00 on 18 September 2026. The full life cycle is public, from project approval in October 2023 to the FDIS in August 2026.

Not proved

The added terms

The amendment is a draft and is not in the public platform. ISO publishes no list of added or revised entries. This site does not guess them.

What to do before publication

01

Name one owner

A person, a review date and a version for the vocabulary. Without that, the amendment is a reading exercise.

02

Cite the public entries

Put the clause citation in the inventory, the model register, the data schedule and the assurance argument.

03

Record the local words

Every firm has synonyms. Put each beside the entry it stands for or mark it as a local term.

04

Watch the stage, not the rumour

Stage 50.20, 60.00 and 60.60 are public fields. A watch on those fields beats a newsletter.

Open the dated plan

Check your vocabulary in nine questions

A reading of your practice against the public terms, at least three actions and a dated plan. It runs in your browser, sends nothing and returns scope incomplete rather than a pass when an answer is missing.

Nothing here is guessed while you wait. Every answer is written from the public ISO record and the public clause 3 entries, and points to the exact clause it came from. How the record is built.

The rules this is built from

Read from the public record, not invented. Every page names the clause or term it comes from and links the official ISO record so you can check any line yourself. No clause text is reproduced.
